Hi Reader Happy Friday! The last and most important of our firsts on Monday was sending our oldest daughter on her first solo airplane flight from SLC to Dallas. From there she was joining my brother on a trip to Austria for just over 2 weeks. This will be her 2nd time overseas—the first one she was only 4 and she does remember bits and pieces from the trip. They arrived safely in Munich after delaying their flight an extra day to let the weather calm down a bit from the aftereffects of the hurricane. It's my first glimpse into what the future might look like when she leaves home and later on as an empty nester. Granted, I still have three with me, so it is far from quiet. But the dynamic of the house is different. I think that it’s a similar feeling in business, when you choose to change things up, designs, offers, pivot your target audience. Things just feel different. It’s not bad. Just different. I think I am feeling this way a little bit as I am updating my website. I am really liking the new design direction I am taking. But, it definitely feels different. I am about half way through my updates. It's kind of a hard place to be. Far enough to know I can’t go back to the way it was. Not quite far enough to see the light at the end of the tunnel yet. In a place where it takes faith and baby steps forward in the dark, trusting there is a light up ahead. Second guessing things you thought were final decisions. Ha! If you know me, you probably know “final” and “decisions” are two things I am terrible at. Today, I am choosing to be excited about the possibilities that will unfold as I continue to work through and rework the updates. I am choosing to enjoy this mini adventure in the middle of the bigger entrepreneurial journey. I am super excited for my daughter’s epic adventure! And I am cheering you on in your’s. In Other News: This morning I had a zoom networking session with the BossMom’s+ group I am a part of. It was a great but challenging experience. There are always nuggets or gold mines of take aways. Plus I made a handful of new business acquaintances that I can see growing into long term friendships. It’s really exciting to meet new people especially when you walk away thinking, I really enjoyed talking with her, I can’t wait to learn more about them! I’m really enjoying this community! Dubsado has finally launched their mobile app!! It’s been a long time coming! I downloaded it yesterday and had a quick look around. My first impressions: Very good! It feels like a very similar experience, perhaps even easier to navigate. They have lots of additional features they will be rolling out over the next weeks and months that will make it even better. Here’s a link to their roadmap. This is a brilliant way to communicate what is coming down the pipeline! I love this behind the scenes look into what they are working on and what’s on the radar. It also serves as a historical record of what they’ve already accomplished. I love this. I’ve seen this with a few other companies recently. It’s sparked a few ideas for my own website too.
